Nidarshana Vedh Vastu is one of a family of sites run by Nidarshana Vedh from Gujarat, India. The others cover Vedic astrology, the Jain calendar and astronomy, modern astrology and numerology and Ayurveda. This one is about Vastu Shastra. It began as a section of the Vedic astrology site and now has a home of its own.

Who writes it

The site is written and maintained by Niket Jain, the astrologer behind Nidarshana Vedh, who has studied Jyotish for seven years. The Vastu pages are drawn from the classical texts named on each page, and they say where those texts differ. You can read more about him on the main site’s about page.

What the site does

We report what the classical Vastu texts say, in the translations we could read, name the verse where we can, and say plainly when something is a later or modern convention. The site has guides to rooms, homes, workplaces and remedies, and free tools such as an entrance checker.

How we write

  • Sourced. A classical claim names the text it comes from. The method and sources page lists the texts we read and the translations we compared.
  • Labelled. Every page marks what is classical, what is modern and what is disputed.
  • Calm. Nothing here predicts illness, loss or failure from the position of a room or a door, and we do not tell anyone to spend money or to demolish anything.
  • Honest about limits. We work from English translations and a summary, not from the Sanskrit, and we have not tested whether the results the tradition describes are true of any home. The method page says so.
  • Corrected in the open. Errors are fixed and logged with a date on the corrections page.

What this site is not

It is not a substitute for a structural engineer, an architect, a doctor or a financial adviser. Our disclaimer says more.
